Sussex Dreamin'As predicted by yours truly, we are enjoying an indian summer down here on the south coast. September is always a good month for the residents of Brighton & Hove [I should really get into the habit of calling the city by its complete moniker] as it's the one month where we seem to get the place almost to ourselves.
The glut of holidaymakers, day-trippers & stag & hen parties - all fun to have around but they double the population making for restricted booty-shaking space on occasions - has slowed to a mere trickle and the students of Brighton's two universities & other further education establishments have yet to return to their boozy nests so September is when mooching around town is a little easier.
Sun & a decent breeze is always good for the local kite surfing fraternity too. Had an enjoyable afternoon at Hove King Alfred's last Sunday watching them & the rest of the world go by.
Some pictures...And on the surf tip, check out
www.notcalifornia.co.uk for a collection of rather corking stills & QuickTime movies from the local surf scene. The site is previewing a
free screening at the
Duke of York's cinema this coming Sunday morning at 11 o'clock.
